Welcome from the President

DeLorean Barksdale, National Pan-Hellenic Council President

The Ball State University National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a self-governing body that represents the Divine 9 historically African American fraternity and sorority member organizations, one Latina sorority and one Latino fraternity associate members.

Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Iota Phi Theta are the five fraternities. The four sororities consist of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta. Even though there are nine fraternities and sororities, there are only four represented on Ball State campus at this time: Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Sigma Gamma Rho, Gamma Phi Omega and Phi Iota Alpha.

Each organization holds a Week of Events in both the fall and spring semester where you can learn more about a certain organization.

NPHC consists of five executive council members, five appointed officers and a voting representative from each fraternity or sorority. The NPHC is led by a ten member Executive Committee, which works closely with the Greek advisors.

NPHC's mission is to promote unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.

The emphasis of the Ball State NPHC shall be to contribute to the political, spiritual, social, economic, and cultural life on the campus of Ball State University and the surrounding community through the presentation of programs and give aggressive support to the upward mobility of the students on the campus and the youth of the community while promoting brotherhood and sisterhood.

Welcome to the website of the National Pan-Hellenic Council at the Ball State University, and we invite you to explore and learn more about us.

If you have any questions regarding the NPHC community or want to learn more about us, please contact any officer or nphc@bsu.edu.
