All Greek organizations are based upon values like integrity, respect, loyalty, love and honor. This means that hazing has no place in recruitment or during the pledging process of a Greek organization. So how do you know what hazing is?
Hazing is - Any action taken or situation created intentionally:
- that causes embarrassment, harassment or ridicule
- risks emotional and/or physical harm
- to members of an organization or team
- whether new or not
- regardless of the person's willingness to participate
The University takes a strong stance against any hazing activity or Greek organization or member that is involved. There are also many nation wide efforts taking place to prevent hazing.
