Congratulations on your son or daughter's acceptance to Ball State University and your interest in researching our Greek community.
How do I get involved with my student's fraternity or sorority?
There are many ways that you as a parent or family member can get involved in your student's Greek experience. Many chapters have Family Day, Mom's Weekend, and Dad's Weekend events when the parents and families of all members come to the chapter house for a barbecue or a similar social gathering. These events are a great way for you to meet the parents and families of other chapter members. We encourage you to research the chapter your son or daughter is interested in or has joined and find out what kind of parent's activities they host.
Greek students have the opportunity to participate in several philanthropies during their college experience. Many times, you can attend the philanthropy to show your support.
Feel free to stop by the chapter house. Sororities and fraternities become the home away from home for all of their members. You should feel the same comfort when you come to visit.
Finally, for the latest Greek events, you might want to look at the Greek calendar.

How do I keep informed about the Greek community?
Each semester the Office of Student Life distributes a newsletter to the parents of the 1,200 fraternity and sorority members at Ball State.
Also if you a parent of a student who will be studying at Ball State next fall you will receive an informational brochure in the mail from the Office of Student Life.
I have questions, how do I get them answered?
We know you may have many questions if your son or daughter is interested in joining a fraternity or sorority. We encourage you to visit the information about your son joining or your daughter joining. We also have provided you questions frequently asked by parents and ways you can support your son or daughter through the process.
Parents may also want to look at the Greek Report, which evaluates how well chapters adhere to the founding values of scholarship and service. We also provide other facts and statistics including graduation rates and retention rates.
You can also find awards your student's chapter or the community has won in the past.
