Mid-year Selection Timeline

Step 1: The Application
What: Online application to indicate your interest in the mid-year RA position
When: Available online beginning Wednesday, October 3 through noon, Monday, October 15
Your Responsibility: Complete the application in its entirety. Once you complete the application you will receive a confirmation email. Print the confirmation and keep for your records! Note: You MUST have already completed or be currently enrolled in EDHI 200 in order to apply to be a mid-year RA. Employment is contingent upon passing EDHI 200 with a grade of C or higher.

Step 2: First Round Interviews
What: You will be interviewed by staff members from your current residence hall and another building. This will be a 30-minute interview. Dress is business casual.
When: November 7-9, 2012
Your Responsibility: You will be contacted to set up an interview time. Follow the directions and ask questions if you need more information. Make sure to arrive at your interview on time (unless you have an academic commitment).

Step 3: Second Round Interviews
What: Students who are offered a second-round hall director and manager interview will spend 30 minutes meeting with two to five hall directors from across campus, answering questions about the position and your leadership skills.
When: November 16-18, 2012
Your Responsibility: You will be contacted to set up an interview time. Follow the directions and ask questions if you need more information. Make sure to arrive at your interview on time.

Step 4: Notification Letters
What: We will send you one of following three letters:
1) A congratulations letter offering you a position in a specific building or apartment community.
2) An alternate letter explaining that while we consider you a hireable candidate, we are not offering you employment at this time. If you receive this letter, we will place you in an alternate pool and keep your information on file should more positions become available.
3) A letter thanking you for your time and interest in the position.
When: December 6, 2012
Your Responsibility: Recognize these decisions (including your placement if hired) are final and not subject to negotiation. If you are hired, you will need to formally accept the position and complete and sign a contract.
