How is safety and security on campus?

Your safety and security is important to us.

Each residence hall is protected by an ID card reader that unlocks the door for residents of the building to enter. Residents must accompany visitors at all times. Students are encouraged to keep the doors to their rooms locked and follow common sense safety precautions.

Learn more about safety and security in the residence halls and visit the Ball State Police Department Web site for more safety tips.

Note: You are strongly encouraged to insure your personal belongings. The university does not carry insurance on residents or their property. It is not liable for personal property that may be lost, stolen, or damaged. Review your family's homeowner insurance policy for coverage.
