New Freshmen and Transfers

Freshman and transfer students who plan to begin at Ball State in the fall, indicate on their application for admissions that they plan to live on campus, AND confirm their enrollment (to the Office of Admissions), will be sent information via mail and email (to your BSU Outlook account) on how to request a space in our residence hall system.

Students who confirm before December 8 will have an opportunity to go online and complete the housing application in advance until January 2 as part of the Early Bird process. If you miss this time frame or don't complete the application, you will have another opportunity in March to sign up.

Regular freshman room sign-up will begin on March 10 and will continue throughout the summer. Within are instructions on how to use our online housing application, as well as details on how to request a roommate (or search for one online) and how to select a meal plan. Also, watch our video to learn more how we assign students who don't have roommate requests.

Also, if you are a transfer or nontraditional student and meet the eligibility requirements, you may wish to live at the University Apartments.

To learn more about living on-campus, contact our office. We look forward to seeing you at Orientation this summer and in the fall!
