As a first-year student at Ball State, establishing good habits and getting into a routine can help take the edge off being new to everything.
Are you eating regularly, and are you eating well? Eating only your favorite sub from Courtside twice a day and chasing it with two chocolate chip cookies won't get you energized or help you maintain a healthy diet. If Mom made you eat a serving of vegetables and drink milk at dinner, there was a good reason for it. Get back into Mom's good eating habits!
Are you going to bed at a decent hour and waking up at a regular time? Getting up at 10 a.m. one day and 6:30 a.m. the next day is rough on your body. You probably had to get up at the same time every morning to go to high school -- it's a great habit to keep!
Bring some of your good habits to college, or start some new ones. They will feel as comforting as that old sweatshirt your family never thought you would part with.
