Become a Mentor

If you’ve ever had a mentor, you know how valuable that relationship can be. Mentors give advice, encouragement, and a push in a positive direction.

If you want to help new students with their transition into the Ball State community, apply to be an Excel mentor. As a mentor you will be assigned to a student or group of students who are same-sexed and share the same major as you.

We count on our mentors to help new students transition from high school to college by offering resources and guidance. All of our mentors go through training sessions to gain information and skills to provide appropriate resources to participants.

To apply, you may fill out the form online, or you can complete an application in the Multicultural Center Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
