Voting in Indiana

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

You may contact your county’s Voter Registration Office to determine if you are registered and where your polling location is. You can also look up your registration and polling place at IndianaVoters.com. Please note that if you registered recently, the IndianaVoters site will not be as up-to-date as your own county's registration office. You must have been registered by Oct. 6 to vote in the November election.

Indiana State law requires voters to present an Indiana or federal photo I.D. (i.e. passport) when voting. It must be a photo I.D., complete with an expiration date and an address. Ball State student I.D. cards are not accepted.

If you plan on using an absentee ballot, make sure you have your request for an absentee ballot in early.

Early voting
Because of expected heavy turn-out in this year’s election, voters are being encouraged to vote early.

In Delaware County you may vote early by coming to the county office at 100 W. Main Street, Muncie, during any of the following times:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (in the week before the election, weekday hours will be extended until 7 p.m., except on Monday, Nov. 3 when the office will be open from only 8:30 a.m. to noon)
  • 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 1 (Saturday dates)

To learn about early voting in other Indiana counties, contact your county's Voter Registration Office.
