Brian A. Gallagher

Brian Gallagher joined the Foundation Board in 2004.

Gallagher is the president and CEO of the United Way Worldwide and has worked for the organization nearly his entire professional career. He received a bachelor's degree in social work from Ball State in 1981. He went on to receive his master's degree in business administration from Emory University in 1992, and an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities in 2003 from Ball State. In 1996, he became president of the United Way of Central Ohio, in Columbus. Before that, he spent six years at the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. He assumed his present position as president and chief executive officer of the United Way of America in 2002. Gallagher is a member of the President's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Gallagher currently resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland with his wife, Ramona, and children, Maggie and Katie.
