Randall B. Howard

Randy Howard joined the foundation board in 2009

Dr. Randy Howard, will start his position of vice president for business affairs and treasurer of Ball State University on July 1, 2009. In this role, Dr. Howard oversees all finance and business services, state and federal government relations, human resources, internal audit, auxiliary services, facilities master planning, building construction, and facilities management.

Prior to this position, he has been serving as the university’s associate vice president of finance and assistant treasurer since August, 2006. He received his B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics in 1986 from Birmingham Southern College and his M.S. in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1992. He completed his doctorate at the University of Georgia in business administration in 1997.

Dr. Howard retired from the United States Air Force in 2006 after twenty years of service. During this time he held numerous positions including tours as an assistant professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, chief financial officer for the United States Air Force Academy, comptroller squadron commander for Ellsworth Air Force Base, and senior financial economist for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Cost and Economics.

He and his wife, Karen, have two children, Ryan, a sophomore at Yorktown High School, and Allie, a seventh-grader at Yorktown Middle School.
