James C. Lintzenich
James Lintzenich joined the Foundation Board in 2008

James Lintzenich graduated from Ball State in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Lintzenich is currently a private investor. He formerly was chief executive officer and vice chairman of the USA Group, Inc., until August 2000. Lintzenich then became president and chief operations officer of Sallie Mae until his resignation in April of 2001.
Lintzenich was awarded the Miller College of Business (MCOB) Award of Distinction in 1998 and the MCOB Award of Achievement in 1995, and was elected to the MCOB Hall of Fame in 2001. He received Ball State’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002.
Lintzenich is a member of the Quadrangle and Fellows Lifetime societies, and is a long term donor. He is married to Marybeth, a 1975 Ball State graduate with a B.S. in special education. The couple has three children.
