Campaign Highlights

Thanks to our amazing friends and alumni, Ball State successfully completed an ambitious $200 million capital campaign. Below are highlights and stories that have transpired over the course of the campaign.

55 new scholarships celebrate success of Ball State Bold campaign
Ball State University celebrated the success of the Ball State Bold capital campaign with 55 new Honors College scholarships. Known collectively as Bold Celebration Scholars, they were presented with $2.2 million in four-year scholarships during a March 17 Statehouse ceremony with Gov. Mitch Daniels, House Speaker Brian Bosma, Senate President Pro Tempore David Long and university President Jo Ann M. Gora.

Bold campaign racing toward record goal  
One year into an effort they first thought might take up to four to complete, university leaders are marking the first anniversary of the public phase of Ball State Bold: Investing in the Future with minimal fanfare, even as the capital campaign approaches 90 percent of its $200 million goal. 

Dedication set for Ball Honors House 
The new Ball Honors House will be dedicated on October 16.

Scholarships created for minorities
A new scholarship program will benefit minority students who possess leadership potential and high academic abilities.

Scholarships designed for emerging media students
Part of Ball State’s Emerging Media Initiative (EMI) encourages and enables more student involvement in emerging media, starting with establishment of a new scholarship: The Pond Family Emerging Media Scholars program to recruit talented students.

Ball State helps Indiana grow through Emerging Media Initiative
A major investment in emerging media by Ball State University promises to provide critically needed human capital and foster economic development across the state and region.

GIS technology gives students an edge
Engineering and geospatial software provider Intergraph Corp. donated 500 copies of its GeoMedia Professional to Ball State. The total value of the software is $4.2 million.

Couple establishes endowment for music education
A December 2008 dedication at the Music Instruction Building for the Barbara D. and Erwin C. Mueller Lobby recognized a recent gift from the Ball State alumni.

David Letterman Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshop Series ongoing
Many of you have followed Late Show host David Letterman’s tributes to the Cardinals, the “fiercest robin-sized” bird in the entire world. Letterman gives back to Ball State with more than airtime on national television. His support of his alma mater is accentuating Ball State’s emerging media initiative.

Former educators leave $1.6 million to assist Ball State
A $1.6 million gift from a former Anderson, Indiana, couple will provide unrestricted funding for various programs offered by Ball State University.

Estate gift to assist Ball State in recruiting top faculty in business
A $1.8 million estate gift will be used to attract and retain top business faculty at Ball State.

Bold campaign kickoff
Ball State launched an ambitious capital campaign with the goal of raising $200 million—more than twice the amount of any campaign goal in the university's history.
