"With all the students' energy and ongoing research projects, teaching and researching at Ball State keep me moving at top speed. During my career, I have been surrounded by motivated and talented students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Those people have made all the difference in the world."
Scott Trappe, John and Janice Fisher professor of exercise science
for an intellectually vibrant community that will attract the finest students, professors, administrators, and community and industry leaders.

One example is Scott Trappe, the John and Janice Fisher professor of exercise science, whom you might have heard about on the BBC.

Through a $1.2 million grant from NASA, Trappe—one of the nation’s leading researchers in the field of muscle physiology—studied the effect of prolonged space flight on human skeletal muscles.

Trappe has also studied the limits to athletic performance for the U.S. Olympic Committee, and through a $1.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, investigated the effects of aging on muscles. His findings were reported in The Washington Post.

Your gift will ensure that Ball State students will continue to have access to the country’s finest programs and professors—and indeed, will choose Ball State because of this national stature.

By endowing a faculty chair or professorship, you provide an ongoing legacy and through naming opportunities, a timeless memorial.
