Your gifts to Ball State, made through the Ball State University Foundation, make a difference whether you give to the Ball State Fund—to be used for the greatest needs of the university—or to designated areas, programs, and projects of your choice.
In addition to the benefits derived from your gift, your participation counts too! As the percentage of alumni who participate in annual giving increases, so does national awareness of Ball State’s excellence (through rankings such as U.S. News & World Report) and our ability to accomplish even more.
In addition, your gifts to Ball State are tax deductible in accordance with state and federal tax laws.
Ball State Fund
Each year thousands of loyal Ball State alumni give to the Ball State Fund to provide essential support for the university’s top priority projects and programs. Your gift of unrestricted dollars to the Ball State Fund helps us provide students with relevant, immersive learning opportunities, unparalleled access to and collaboration with outstanding faculty, and leading-edge technology and facilities.
Scholarship assistance makes a significant positive impact on the lives and pocketbooks of our students—today and tomorrow. Assistance includes academic merit scholarships, named scholarships, and the University Scholars pooled scholarship fund. Many scholarships support students with financial need, specific majors, exceptional academic abilities, and leadership potential.
Academic Programs and Departments
Support for Ball State’s academic colleges and departments—encompassing more than 200 majors and minors—results in excellent programs that garner national recognition. Your gifts promote collaborative, interdisciplinary, and immersive learning experiences that meet the changing educational needs of our students and prepare them for success after graduation.
Funds to attract and encourage expert, energized faculty and to stimulate productive research are crucial in fulfilling Ball State’s educational mission. Endowed chairs and distinguished and visiting professorships lend prestige and visibility to faculty positions and help recruit and retain the best in academia.
Facilities and Technology
Your gifts help provide students and faculty with leading-edge technology, equipment, and facilities that enhance teaching and prepare our graduates for real-world success. Although state funding is available for academic buildings, private funding is required for about half of our campus structures, including the football stadium and the carillon tower.
Gifts to the Cardinal Varsity Club (CVC) help create success for Ball State student-athletes, on the playing field and in the classroom. Gifts to the CVC comprise a large percentage of scholarship dollars and help Ball State attract outstanding student-athletes to athletic and degree programs.
