Burris Laboratory School

Burris Laboratory School is unique in many ways, providing valuable teaching and learning experiences for Ball State Teachers College students, while steadfastly guiding each K-12 learner toward realization of his or her full potential.

Mission
As its mission, the Burris Laboratory School, a school established by the Teachers' College, provides the development, demonstration, and dissemination of effective and innovative teaching practices, offers an exemplary pre-service clinical program for teaching majors, accommodates research and operates an educationally sound instructional program for its K-12 population. This mission is based on the belief that all students can learn and will be empowered to develop their fullest intellectual, social, artistic, and physical potentials.

High Ability Admissions
Admission application process for 2012-13 has ended. For information concerning the 2013-14 high ability application process, click here - Admissions.
Regular Admissions
Applications are now available for the regular lottery for 2013-12. The deadline to apply for kindergarten is March 15, 2013. The deadline to apply for grades 1-12 is April 13, 2013.   For information concerning the 2013-14 regular application process, click here - Admissions.
Appeal Procedures
Ball State University has appointed a Burris Laboratory School Admissions Appeal Committee for regular Burris admission that may be used under very limited circumstances. The appeal procedures are available here.
