About the Museum

Director's Welcome

At the David Owsley Museum of Art we encourage visitors to experience the joy of lifelong learning and recreation found in the visual arts. The museum has an exceptional permanent collection and engaging exhibitions for you to explore. There are also great programs and events that offer many opportunities to learn more about the arts.

Our website provides information about:

DIDO, or Digital Images Delivered Online, is an ongoing project to provide high quality images of the 11,000 artworks in the museum's collection. This new database is easily searchable and I encourage you to explore the collection. The project is ongoing and new artworks are added regularly.

If you would like to become a member of the museum there are several ways you can participate.

  • The Friends of the Museum are dedicated to supporting and enhancing museum activities.
  • The Museum of Art Alliance focuses on stimulating public interest and participation in the museum.
  • The Benefactors Society recognizes contributions that support the university's commitment to expand, enhance, and maintain the museum's diverse collection.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website and invite you to visit often. I'll see you in the galleries.

Sincerely,
Peter F. Blume
Director
