The Cardinal Network for Higher Education is an initiative of the Ball State University Alumni Association in support of Ball State University and the associate vice president for governmental relations. The program recruits, encourages, informs, and coordinates alumni and friends of the university who support the goals and needs of Ball State University in higher education. Members of the network communicate support to their representatives in the local, state and federal government.
Cardinal Network for Higher Education advocates work together to increase awareness regarding particular legislative issues. They communicate key concerns and messages to the General Assembly via e-mails, letters, phone calls, personal contact, or by attending Local Third House Sessions for legislators. Other opportunities to participate may be as simple as thanking legislators for their support.
The Alumni Association communicates with Cardinal Network advocates on a regular basis to keep them informed about issues of higher education in Indiana and particular issues of interest to Ball State University. Becoming a member of the network can take as little, or as much, time as you have to contribute. There are no meetings required, only your advocacy to enhance and strengthen the university and to ensure Ball State University continues to provide a high quality education.
Anyone with an interest in supporting Ball State University can become an advocate. The Cardinal Network includes alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the university. Becoming a member of the network means you are taking an active role in letting our elected officials know how you feel about issues that will benefit the growth and quality of Ball State University and higher education in Indiana.
