The Natural Resources & Environmental Management Alumni Society accepts recommendations annually for the following awards:
Award of Distinction
The nominee must hold a position of distinction in education, business, government, or academe with a demonstrated history of success in his or her field as related to natural resources. He or she must have proven and demonstrated loyalty to the Ball State University Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management. The nominee must also be a recognized civic leader who displays extraordinary service to human kind and a commitment to environmental quality.

Award of Achievement
The nominee must be an alumnus of Ball State University (NREM major preferred). He or she must be in a position of responsibility with a demonstrated history of success within the field of Natural Resources & Environmental Management. The nominee should be supportive of Ball State University and/or the NREM Department.
Past Recipients
Award of Merit
The nominee must be a Natural Resources and Environmental Management alumnus of Ball State who graduated no longer than 10 years earlier than the year of recognition. The nominee should have already demonstrated notable success in a career related to NREM, and should be supportive of Ball State University, particularly the NREM Department.
Past Recipients
Friend of NREM Award
The nominee is an individual or business who has been a friend and supporter of the NREM Department and/or the NREM Alumni Society. The nominee will not be an alumnus of the NREM Department.

Applications are accepted throughout the year and will remain in consideration for three years.
