Banner Decorating Contest

Show off your organization's Homecoming spirit by participating the Banner Decorating Contest! Earn Pride Points and display your group's name at Homecoming events! 

Banners should follow this year’s Homecoming theme of “Cardinal Strong.


  • The entry fee is $15.
  • Organization name, Ball State, and Homecoming should appear on banners to be considered for the overall winner prize.
  • There is no limit to resources for the banner except the use of glitter. All banners with glitter will be disqualified and not displayed. Use your imagination, but please stick to the theme. All banners must be cloth (sheets or shower curtains are recommended for easy display).
  • Banners are to be brought to the Alumni Association Office, Alumni Center, 2nd Floor, 2800 W. Bethel Avenue, by Wednesday, October 1, before 4:00 p.m. The banner needs to be completely dry when delivered. All banners entered in the competition will be displayed at events starting October 2 (Faculty/Staff Homecoming Reception).
  • The Homecoming Steering Committee is not responsible for stolen or damaged banners.
  • Any participants who wish to display their banner in the parade need to pick their banner up between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10. Otherwise they will not be returned to you. The committee will not bring banners to the parade site.

Banner Decorating Entry Form

The 2014 Homecoming Steering Committee will judge banners. Winners will be announced at Air Jam--- Thursday, October 9 at 9:00 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Remember, participating in the Banner Decorating Competition is counted toward the Homecoming Pride Points.
