The NEW Homecoming Village provided new and fun opportunities for students, faculty/staff, the Muncie community, and alumni to become involved and enjoy Ball State University’s Homecoming week.  Over 3,000 people attended the first-time event!

Homecoming Village Registration Forms (Poker Tournament and Bands)

Homecoming Village will take place on Monday, October 8 and is located on Martin Street between Riverside and University Avenues.  The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. Homecoming village is FREE for students and includes:

  • President Gora will kick-off the event with remarks at 7:00 p.m.
  • Athletics Director Bill Scholl and football team captains Keith Wenning, Travis Freeman, Connor Ryan, and Scott Kovanda will also make some opening remarks.
  • Mobile Zip Line!
    • Free for students and children 12 and under, $5 for Muncie community members
    • Food
      • Popcorn, cotton candy, and more!
      • Photo Booth
      • Poker Tournament
        • Enter a team or walk-up and learn how to play!
        • Live Student Bands
        • Specials from village restaurants
          • Cleo's Bourbon Bar: Burger, fries & drink for $4.99, Free trivia from 8:00-10:00 p.m.
          • Grandma Betty's: $3 banana splits, $1 sodas
          • Greeks: $13.80 for a medium Greek's pizza
          • Jimmy John's: Free sub samples and sub cards, Free reusable cup with any drink purchase
          • The Locker Room: 1/4 lb. burger, fries & drink for $5.99 (half price), Trivia starting at 9:00 p.m., all Ages welcome until 10:00 p.m., Dine-In or Carry-Out

            POKER TOURNAMENT:
            Guests are encouraged to join in the fun with the Homecoming Poker Tournament!

            • No registration fee!
            • Tournament begins at 7:15 p.m. on Martin Street (grassy area behind Honors House)
            • Normal Texas Hold 'Em poker rules apply - specific rules will be placed at each table
            • Those interested in learning to play poker will have separate "walk-up" instructional tables the day of the event, no registration required
            • Those who register for the tournament should be expected to know the rules of poker and have knowledge of the game

            STUDENT BANDS:
            Student bands are encouraged to come out and perform on the Homecoming Village stage! Bands will be given a 30-minute set to perform for students and the Muncie community. 

            • No registration fee!
            • Basic sound equipment (speakers, microphones, etc.) will be provided - bands must provide their own amps and other specific equipment needed
            • Bands must perform appropriate music with no vulgar language, etc.
            • Bands will be required to submit a demo to the Homecoming Steering Committee (band will be contacted after entry form is submitted)
