Cluster Analysis

With a help of a GIS system, we can create visual maps of specific industry clusters for you. Our analysis is based on very detailed, state-of-the-art, trade flow data. This type of analysis is very useful for planning purposes.
There is a lot of confusion about the definition of clusters, or cluster analysis. Clusters are not just concentrated groups of only the same industry types, i.e. the same North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes in a region. Clusters are geographically concentrated groups of interconnected companies, universities, and related institutions that arise out of linkages or externalities across industries.

Regions and clusters are analyzed at various geographic levels including states, economic areas, and metropolitan areas (definition from Harvard's Cluster Mapping Project).
