Economic Development Course Registration and Credit Information

 Agenda Main Location Sponsors FAQs

Registration for the 2015 course is not yet open, but you may fill out this electronic form to be notified once we begin accepting applications.

Space is limited.  Non-scholarship seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will be contacted within ten business days to confirm their registration status after submitting the online form.

The non-credit course fee for all participants in 2015 was $695. The course fee covers instruction, course manual, class picture, a Thursday evening reception, daily continental breakfasts, Friday buffet breakfast, and Monday through Thursday lunches.

Contact Jes Beals with any questions concerning non-credit registration and cancellation.

IMPORTANT: You must first register and be accepted into the non-credit portion of the Indiana Economic Development Course before enrolling for credit.  Please read the following instructions to find out how to enroll through Ball State once you have been notified of your acceptance into the course. The non-credit fee is still due to Building Better Communities in addition to any costs associated with taking the course for credit.

You may earn three credit hours of graduate or undergraduate credit through the BSU Department of Urban Planning that may be transferable to other universities. If you want to receive college credit, you must pay a BSU tuition fee in addition to the course registration fee, and complete additional assignments after completion of the course. The admission deadline to BSU for this course is typically in mid-December.

If you are not already a Ball State Student, please follow the instructions below for either undergraduate or graduate admission.

Visit the registration website to complete an application.  Select non-degree seeking as your application choice, if you wish to enroll for courses and not pursue a degree.  Should you be enrolled at another college or university and want to take Ball State courses for credit to transfer back to your institution, select Undergrad Guest for your application choice.  Please contact Amy Ward at (765) 285-3486, if you have questions.

Visit the Graduate Office to complete an application. Click on Apply Now quick link, scroll down/select the Non-degree box, answer required questions, and include in the comment box that you are attending the week-long 2016 Indiana EDC for college credit.  If you have questions regarding this application process, please contact Mindy Wagner (765) 285-1286

Once you have gained admission into the university, please e-mail Jes Beals with your student ID number and BSU username to be granted permission to register for the course.  You will then need to sign-up for PLAN 490/590 through Ball State's online course registration system.

Please call Kim Terrell at (765) 285-5757 for college credit registration assistance.
