How do I access my eBill?
Students may add Authorized Payers to their account by logging into myBSU and selecting the SSB link. Students and Authorized Payers can view the eBill, decide on whether to use the Installment Plan, and make payments on their bursar accounts.

Students and their Authorized Payers will receive an e-mail notification with a link to the eBill website each time an eBill is ready to view. Students will log in and authenticate themselves with their Ball State University user name and password.

Upon login, you can view the eBill statement, set up and store bank account information for submitting payments, pay the eBill statement by e-check or credit card, print paper copies of the eBill statement, and set up Authorized Payers.

What are the options to pay my eBill?
Students and Authorized Payers may use the following methods of payment:

  • Online: Pay online from your checking or savings account, or credit card. A 2.75% processing fee is assessed as a separate transaction on your credit card statement and is paid to the credit card processor. Credit card payments will not be accepted in person, by mail, or by phone.
  • Mail: Mail your check, money order, or cashier's check to the following address:

Ball State University
Office of Bursar and Loan Administration
Muncie, IN 47306-0725

Do not send post-dated checks. All payments are processed the day they are received.

  • In Person: Pay by cash, check, money order or cashier's check at the cashier's window in Lucina Hall, Room B31.

What is the Installment Payment Plan?
The Installment Payment Plan allows four payments to be made during a semester, due the first day of each month. Upon selecting the plan, a $45 enrollment fee will be assessed. Payments not received according to the Installment Payment Plan, or not received by the due date, will be subject to a late fee.

You will be required to enroll in the Installment Payment Plan and pay the $45 enrollment fee each semester.

There is no installment amount on my Summer eBill. Is the Installment Payment Plan available during the summer?
No. The Installment Payment Plan is available only during the academic year (fall through spring).

Should I make a payment before or after enrolling in the Installment Payment Plan?
Your payment should be made after you enroll and pay the $45 Enrollment Fee. Payments made to the account before enrolling in the payment plan will reduce your balance, but will not be counted as an Installment Payment, and you will be expected to make your Installment Payment.

What happens if I do not enroll in the Installment Payment Plan?
If you do not sign up for the Installment Payment Plan, you are expected to pay your semester bill in full by the due date on the statement.

What is an Electronic Signature?
The electronic signature is similar to a PIN that you create for your account. It can be your full name, a meaningful number, or a key phrase that you and your family use. The electronic signature must be between 4 and 15 characters long, and may not contain any spaces.

Where can I view transactions that have occurred on my eBill account since the most recent statement?
You can select the Current Activity Detail link found within the Your Account section of your eBill account.  You will be able to view all transactions that have occurred between the date of the most recent eBill statement and today.  These transactions will appear on the next eBill statement.

Can I make a partial payment?
You can make a payment for a specific amount by selecting the Make a Payment link within the Your Account section. Select the charge where you wish to make a payment and enter the amount you wish to pay in the Amount field. Select the Add to Shopping Cart button. At this point, you may either Continue Shopping or Checkout using the method of payment of your choice.

How can my family members or other Authorized Payers log in and view my eBill?
Authorized Payers will receive an automated e-mail notification informing them that they have been authorized. The e-mail notification will include their user name and a temporary password. The authorized payer must change the temporary password when he or she first logs into the site.

Be sure to include an accurate e-mail address so your authorized payer will receive e-mail notifications with instructions to access the eBill system and receive e-mail notifications each time a new eBill statement is ready to view.

What is a Guest Payer on eBill?
If the student has not established you as an Authorized Payer, you can make payments as a Guest Payer if you know the student's Ball State ID. Guest payers do not have access to account information. The student will receive an e-mail confirmation of the payments made by Guest Payers on the student's behalf.

If students, Authorized Payers, or Guest Payers do not wish to pay online, they can print the eBill statement and send a check, money order, or cashier's check along with the remittance to:
Ball State University
Office of Bursar and Loan Administration
Muncie, IN 47306-0725

I am an Authorized Payer. Why can't I see payments made by my student?
The payment history in the eBill system shows your online payments only. Due to privacy reasons, you will not see online payments made by your student or other Authorized Payers.

The eBill statement will provide a complete listing of the charges, payments, and credits transacted on the bursar account during the billing period. You will be able to view all payments received and posted which reduce the bursar account balance.

My second child is attending Ball State. Why am I not permitted to establish myself as an Authorized Payer for more than one student?
You can be an Authorized Payer on more than one account, but your user name must be unique with each student. Your user name is what links you to the student’s account, so for each account for which you are an Authorized Payer, you must have a separate user name.

If I am an Authorized Payer, does that allow me to get my student's financial information over the phone, in person, or by email?
As an Authorized Payer, you are only entitled to online information through the eBill system. Being an Authorized Payer does not allow the bursar staff to discuss the student's financial record with parents or other individuals by phone or in person unless the student has also granted access to you through Ball State’s proxy system. Learn more about the proxy system.

I am an Authorized Payer and I have forgotten my eBill login ID and/or password. What do I do?
If you have forgotten or misplaced your eBill login ID and/or password, you can receive a reminder e-mail by selecting the Forgot Password link on the eBill login page, and entering your e-mail address . You will be sent an e-mail with your login ID and password.

How do I see my ACH payment on my account?
ACH payments will be posted to your student account immediately after you receive the receipt for your eBill payment. You can see the payment on your student account by selecting the View link within the Your Recent Payments section, for the transaction you wish to view.

Authorized users will also be able to view the payments that they have made by selecting the same menu options. You may view the payment details within a business day in the Your Recent Payments section.

I am a Ball State student and have forgotten or misplaced my user ID and/or password. How do I get help?
The user ID and password you use to access eBill are the same as those you use to access your Ball State e-mail and other student services. If you have forgotten your user ID or password, go to the Tech Center, located in Bracken Library, room 101, with your Ball State ID card for assistance.

How often are eBills generated?
eBill notifications are generated on a monthly schedule. An e-mail notification will be sent to the student's Ball State e-mail account, as well as to their Authorized Payers, when a new eBill statement is ready to view. Go to www.bsu.edu/bursar for a schedule of the eBill dates and due dates.

How do I know when my payment is due?
All payments are due on the first day of every month. If the first day of the month falls on a weekend or a holiday, the due date becomes the next business day.
