What Can I Do with a Major in…
Environmental Management
Environmental management is the continuing implementation of environmental plans. It concerns stewardship of the landscape and its resources, emphasizing ecology and social issues. Environmental managers seek to attain a balance between natural resource use and preservation. They identify goals for resource development, balance them with conservation issues, and then implement them. Environmental managers need to have a working knowledge of some combination of biology, chemistry, geography, geology, social sciences, and other subjects. Environmental managers must understand and accommodate various perspectives on an issue, including science, policy development and interpretation, and management.
