A degree in mathematical sciences prepares a graduate for a career in many fields. Mathematics is fundamental in every business and in daily life. Most often graduates work in administration or management, though some graduates go on for further study in a specialized area.
Applied Mathematics often means working on problems in physics, chemistry, geology, and engineering from a mathematical perspective. There are endless possibilities of jobs randing from climate analyst to forensic analyst to population ecologist. The Ball State Applied Mathematics curriculum includes courses on probability, numerical analysis, statistics, and differential geometry, as well as courses in mechanics, optics, acoustics, electronics, and magnetism.
