Medical Technology
Medical technologists perform tests and procedures using sophisticated medical equipment to obtain information to help physicians detect, diagnose, and treat diseases. The field of medical technology offers the opportunity to specialize in a number of areas including blood bank technology, clinical chemistry, cytotechnology, hematology, histology, microbiology, and virology. Many medical technologists are employed in hospitals, health agencies, industrial and biomedical laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and research and forensic laboratories.
