What Can I Do with a Major in…
Public Relations and Advertising
The American Marketing Association defines advertising as “the paid, nonpersonal presentation of goods, services, and ideas by an identified sponsor.” Those working in the advertising industry use mass media, television, newspapers, etc., to achieve results. Advertising majors may work for any employers with products, services, or ideas to promote, however most job opportunities in the advertising business can be found within advertising agencies.
The following occupations represent some career opportunities available to advertising and public relations majors. Some will require additional education. For more information visit the Career Center in Lucina 220.
