Urban Planning and Development

Urban planners develop plans to assist in the growth, revitalization, development, and redevelopment of cities, metropolitan areas, and rural communities. Urban planners often help government officials with decisions concerning social, economic, and environmental problems. They also work to preserve historic buildings and help manage community growth and development. The following occupations represent some occupations available to urban planning and development majors. Some will require additional education.
