The Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (NEI-AHEC) is
part of a state and nationwide network of programs working to enhance access to
quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the
supply and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic
educational partnerships.
Working in partnership with community organizations, academic institutions, health providers and government agencies, NEI-AHEC promotes health career opportunities to students and underrepresented minorities, encourages students and health professionals to work in areas with limited health care providers and enhances the knowledge and skills of a diverse workforce of health professionals throughout northeast Indiana.

The NEI-AHEC is hosted by Ball State University and serves a 17-county region: Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Grant,
Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Randolph, Steuben, Wabash, Wells,
and Whitley.
