The RUPRI Center for State Policy focuses on public policy pertaining to rural community growth. The center acts as the "policy" arm of the Indiana Community Institute's research-policy-practice framework for modern, sustainable economic development.
The center examines the unique positions of rural communities across the nation and provides policy recommendations at state and federal levels. The goal is to provide rural communities with adequate resources, efficient/effective governance, and innovative growth strategies. We also provide policymakers with an objective, non-governmental resource for data, information, and analysis of the effects of public policy decisions on rural communities and their citizens.
The RUPRI Center for State Policy is led by David Terrell.
The RUPRI Center for State Policy at Ball State University plays an active role as part of national network of experts that comprise the Rural Policy Research Institute. Since 1990, RUPRI strives to facilitate public dialog among government and rural and communicate the impact of public policy and programs on rural communities.
