Ball State University was recently identified as one of 75 colleges that go above and beyond the mandates of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Learn more about how Ball State excels in offering services to students with disabilities.

The role of Disabled Student Development (DSD) is to coordinate services and accommodations for students with disabilities. In doing so, we review disability documentation, meet with students to determine appropriate accommodations, and work with other areas on campus to implement the accommodations.

Our office balances the legal rights of students with disabilities and the integrity of Ball State’s institutional standards. DSD serves as a clearinghouse for all student disability-related issues at Ball State. In addition to coordinating academic accommodations, we provide disability awareness programs and training for the campus.

If you would like to register with DSD to receive accommodations, begin with the verification process.
