Guidelines for Emergency Situations on Campus

For emergency help while on campus, call 911 or 765-285-1111.
Police • Fire • Medical

This Web site is a resource to assist you in the event of a serious campus crisis or emergency. Use the navigation menu on the right to learn what action to take in a specific emergency situation.

The Ball State Crisis Management Team, which developed these guidelines, works closely with emergency response, law enforcement, and medical agencies in Delaware County to ensure a coordinated response in the event of a crisis. Once a protocol is activated, these guidelines are the authoritative policy for the duration of the emergency. Directions from university public safety officials and the guidelines must be followed by all employees and students until the emergency has passed. Conflict between public safety directions and instructions from faculty or staff not associated with university crisis management will be addressed after the all clear.

Please review these guidelines carefully. If you would prefer a booklet containing this information, please contact Student Affairs at 765-285-5344.

Sincerely,
Alan Hargrave
Chair of the Crisis Management Team
Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Housing and Residence Life
