Contract faculty position available August 15, 2014.
This position is designed to attract nationally or internationally recognized professionals or scholars in one or more of the following areas: digital production (audio, video, emerging media, sports), sales and promotion, news, or film and media studies. Additional opportunities may be available in the department’s “core” classes of telecommunications foundations, media criticism, law, and writing.
Responsibilities: teach at least two classes during both fall and spring semesters with potential for summer teaching; develop materials for classes; collaborate with other department, or outside entities, on projects; commit to agreed levels of service both on and off campus, including representing the department, college, and university; make at least one presentation annually to the Muncie community on an issue pertinent to the appointment.
Minimum qualifications: bachelor’s degree with extensive (10 years or more) professional experience with appropriate national or international recognition.
Preferred qualifications: terminal degree with national or international recognition in either the professional or academic community (10 years minimum).

The department is a nationally recognized leader in media content creation.
