Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Performance (Trumpet), School of Music
Tenure-track faculty position available August 16, 2013. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate applied trumpet students, with secondary strengths in trumpet repertoire and pedagogy, and chamber music coaching; maintain a national profile in performance and professional service; recruit and maintain a strong studio; advise students in academic matters; participate in the student chamber music program; assist in job and graduate school placement, curricular development, and faculty governance. This position will perform with the Da Camera Brass Quintet and other faculty chamber music ensembles. Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally. Minimum qualifications: completed master’s degree; strong performance history; record of successful college teaching. Preferred qualifications: demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students on the college level; exceptional background in trumpet performance and/or scholarship in both orchestral and commercial styles; completed doctorate; experience in coaching chamber music and/or teaching trumpet repertoire and pedagogy.
