Tenure-track faculty position available August 15, 2014.
Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate applied percussion; direct the percussion/marimba ensemble; teach percussion methods and percussion repertoire and pedagogy; maintain a national profile in performance and professional service; recruit and maintain a strong studio; advance students in academic matters; assist in job and graduate school placement.
Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally.
Minimum qualifications: completed master’s degree; strong performance history; record of successful college teaching.
Preferred qualifications: demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students on the college level; exceptional background in percussion performance and/or scholarship in both orchestral and jazz/commercial styles; completed doctorate; experience in directing a percussion/marimba ensemble; experience teaching percussion methods and repertoire and pedagogy.
