Assistant Professor/Musical Theatre Voice, Department of Theatre and Dance

Tenure-track faculty position available August 16, 2013.

Responsibilities: teaching voice lessons within the department’s musical theatre option; serving as a musical theatre accompanist; teaching additional courses in sight singing, basic musicianship, and ensemble singing;. participate in advising, auditioning, and committee work of an academic department.

Minimum qualifications: master’s degree or higher in voice or theatre related field to be completed by August 1, 2013; substantial experience as a voice teacher and musical theatre accompanist; ability to work collegially within a liberal arts setting.

Preferred qualifications: M.F.A. in musical theatre or D.M.A. in vocal performance to be completed by August 1, 2013; substantial experience as a musical conductor, voice coach, and/or stage director of musicals; three years of teaching at the college/university level; proven record as an established professional within the musical theatre field.

The department maintains an active role in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) and supports the continuing development of the department’s Senior Showcase Programs in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Theatre and Dance programs are NAST/NASD accredited.
