Three tenure-track faculty positions available August 15, 2014.
Responsibilities: teaching approximately 8 to 9 hours per semester (predominantly at the undergraduate level); research in mathematics; professional service.
Minimum qualifications: all requirements for a doctorate in mathematics completed by August 15, 2014; strong commitment to undergraduate/early graduate teaching.
Preferred qualifications: research interests that are compatible with the needs and interests of the department. Specialties currently represented include combinatorics, complex dynamics, differential equations, harmonic analysis, Lie groups, numerical analysis, and topology.
Applicants are requested to submit the following: cover letter indicating interest in the position (preferably identifying the Ball State University faculty member closest in research area), curriculum vitae, research summary, statement of teaching philosophy, four letters of reference—at least one of which must substantially address the applicant’s teaching and at least one of which must substantially address the applicant’s scholarship, and an unofficial copy of graduate transcripts.
