Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies
Tenure-track faculty position available August 16, 2013.
Major responsibility: teaching Introduction to Philosophy and upper level courses in area of specialization.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy, specializing in Metaphysics broadly construed; evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Preferred qualifications: competency in one or more of the following—African American philosophy, critical race theory, queer theory, philosophy of indigenous people, women and gender studies, animal ethics, or other area of study concerning underrepresented populations; experience in mentoring non-majority students, inclusive pedagogy, and diversity issues; passion for and innovation regarding teaching and learning.
