Part-time Contract Faculty Position/Hard Rock Geology, Department of Geological Sciences
Part-time sabbatical replacement faculty position available January 7, 2013, for the academic year. Potential for 6-12 hours of assignment per semester. Anticipated responsibilities: teach large section of GEOL 101 physical geology lecture and upper-level specialty course in petrology, structural geology, tectonics, volcanology, economic geology or a related area in Fall semester and GEOL 310/510 Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology in Spring semester. Coordinate GEOL 101 physical geology laboratory sections and teach one laboratory section each semester. Participate in scholarly and service functions of the department.
Minimum qualifications: ABD in geology or related area; college laboratory instruction and/or professional experience.
Preferred qualifications: doctorate in geology or related area; college lecture class teaching experience; appropriate background to teach igneous and metamorphic petrology; research credentials in area of upper-level course instruction; demonstrated quality college teaching and effective interaction with students and peer faculty.
