Web Technical Architect, Information Technology Services

Professional position available immediately.  

Responsibilities:  establish and oversee the technical architecture and infrastructure for the institution’s content management system (CMS), Luminis portal, Self-Service Banner (SSB) and related web-based technologies and services; serve as Information Technology Services (ITS) technical lead for CMS lifecycle management, coordinate involvement of other ITS staff, and deliver a sustainable and trustworthy development and systems environment built upon a Sitecore CMS and Luminis foundation; work closely with the Office of University Marketing and Communications and in particular the UMC Web Solutions Architect (WSA), who will serve as the WTA’s primary point of contact with UMC, and the Director of Interactive Marketing, who has responsibility for the comprehensive CMS strategy and university-wide electronic communications including the university intranet.  

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree; at least three years of experience in information technology or information technology related position; demonstrated web development experience in a modern environment such as .NET and/or Java; demonstrated development experience using a modern DBMS, such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle; familiarity with server development design languages, scripting tools, and protocols such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, HTTP, CSS, XSLT, AJAX, JQuery, ASP and ASP.NET; related experience with enterprise level content management systems; willingness to learn and become proficient in C# and Sitecore related tools and methods; related experience creating queries, views, tables and other objectives specific to enterprise class databases; demonstrated proficiency in gathering user requirements, making recommendations, and turning them into a project; background in managing and maintaining enterprise class systems, services, and related infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of availability; strong communications skills oral and written.  

Preferred qualifications:  extensive experience with C# development and related certifications, such as the MCSD and MCSE; experience with the Sitecore CMS, Luminis, and/or Banner; leadership background with responsibility for directly overseeing a highly technical development staff or project; similar position or role within the higher education environment; experience with responsive design, development and mobile applications.
