Worker's Compensation and Leave Programs Specialist, University Human Resource Services

Professional position available October 1, 2014.  

Responsibilities:  administer the university’s self-insured worker’s compensation program according to Indiana statute and case law, including evaluating accident reports, investigating accidents, and serving as liaison with the medical community; counsel employees and supervisors regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Family and Medical Leave Act; administer other leave programs, including maternity leave, child care leave, emergency leave, extended personal sick leave, military leave, and other leave programs. 

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree with major or minor in business or master’s degree; three years of exempt experience in human resources; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.  

Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree in business related field; familiarity with Indiana’s worker’s compensation statutes/case law and the Family and Medical Leave Act; experience working with medical documentation and HIPAA compliance; PHR or SPHR certification.
