Academic Advising Coordinator for Student Athlete Support Services, University College

Professional position available immediately.  

Responsibilities:  coordinate academic advising for all student athletes; serve as intake advisor for student athlete transfer students and re-enrolling student athletes; provide support to the Executive Director in developing and implementing academic support services for student athletes; coordinate services designated to promote academic success; stay current on NCAA regulations; process and maintain NCAA progress toward degree records.  

Minimum qualifications:  master’s degree completed at time of appointment; at least one year of relevant experience, (for example, teaching or counseling or advising); excellent communication skills.  

Preferred qualifications:  at least three years of college-level academic advising experience; experience working with student athletes in higher education; familiarity with Ball State University, especially Ball State curricula and academic systems; familiarity with NCAA rules governing college-level student-athletes; ability to work effectively independently as well as collaboratively.
