Responsibilities: participate in the planning and delivery of academic advising for undergraduate on-campus and online RN to BS nursing students; cooperate with faculty members in providing academic advising needs of undergraduate students; understand and interpret the baccalaureate requirements and academic options; market/recruit; meet with prospective students/families.
Minimum qualifications: master’s degree; at least two years of related work experience, which includes six months in an academic setting; ability to work with faculty, administration, and undergraduate students; ability to work in a collaborative environment and work independently; sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including minority and international students; interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions; ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the university; ability to identify students’ needs for support services in order to make appropriate referrals; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to operation a personal computer and various software packages.
Preferred qualifications: experience with advising undergraduate students; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of university policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student life, and support services.
