Substance Abuse Therapist/Educator, Office of Health, Alcohol, and Drug Education

Professional position available July 1, 2014.  

Responsibilities:  implement comprehensive alcohol and other drug programs (AOD) that include assessment, prevention, and treatment programming and that reflect the university’s core values; focus on consultation/outreach, group and individual counseling services, and alcohol and other drug education for the university student population; conduct training and supervision for students; monitor student compliance with a web-based substance abuse and sexual assault prevention program; serve on unit and university governance and program committees as appointed and assigned.  

Minimum qualifications:  ABD in clinical or counseling psychology from both a program and internship that are APA-accredited; Ph.D. or Psy.D. must be completed by December 15, 2014; experience in providing substance abuse assessment and treatment; fundamental knowledge of alcohol and its effects on human behavior, as well as knowledge of other substance abuse prevalent among college age students; interest and background in alcohol and AOD counseling/programming.  

Preferred qualifications:  Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from APA-accredited internship and program with experience in AOD counseling and programming; licensed psychologist in Indiana; two years of experience providing AOD assessment, intervention and treatment services to university students.
