Director, Education and Training, Building Better Communities

Professional contract position available immediately.  

Major responsibility:  develop and coordinate the delivery of education courses, conferences, workshops and customized training sessions with emphasis on providing economic and community development programming for state agency staff, professional developers, local elected officials, volunteers, and community leaders. .

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years of experience in the community economic development field and/or education training field; demonstrated knowledge of the community and economic development field; demonstrated planning and organizational skills; computer proficiency; proven ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary groups; effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills; ability and willingness to work independently with limited supervision; must have valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel.  

Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree or community and/or economic development certification; experience in adult education program development and delivery; experience working with Indiana state agencies and local, county and/or regional community and economic development initiatives; established community and economic development network.
