Professional contract position available immediately.
Responsibilities: participate in the planning and delivery of academic advising for undergraduate online students; cooperate with faculty members in providing academic needs of undergraduate students; understand and interpret the specific program requirements and academic options.
Minimum qualifications: master’s degree from an accredited institution; at least two years of related work experience (for example, teaching, counseling, advising, or online/distance program support/administration); ability to work with faculty, administration, and undergrad students; sensitivity to the needs of a diverse and non-traditional student population; interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions; ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the university; ability to identify students’ needs for support services in order to make appropriate recommendations; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to operate a personal computer and various software packages; superior interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: experience with advising students; experience in an academic setting.
