Videographer and Producer, University Marketing and Communications

Professional position available immediately.  

Responsibilities:   create scripts, storyboards and videos using audio, narration, and visual descriptions that support the goals, objectives, and brand of Ball State University; write compelling stories, narration, monologue or dialogue driven scripts that are understood by a diverse audience; familiarity with interactive marketing and content strategy in order to create scripts and videos for use on websites, social media, digital advertising and other digital channels; capable of contributing to the creative process, while at the same time being comfortable with the technical aspects of multi-media production for various environments. 

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree; three years of experience in video production for a professional organization; strong writing, digital storytelling and presenting skills; expertise with Final Cut Studio, media codecs, streaming technology, encoding software, and motion graphics; proven expertise in video and audio acquisition including areas such as Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop; broad understanding of video cameras and camera control, shutter speeds, apertures, lens types, filters and effects; understanding of the principles involved in recording good audio in different conditions, or understanding the principles of 3-point lighting, white balancing, color temperatures and light maintenance; ability to convey ideas through storyboarding; ability to edit tight turnaround times.  

Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree; five years of experience creating videos for the interactive marketing environment; proven experience providing scripts and videos for websites and social media; proven experience producing scripts and videos in higher education; familiarity with DSLR equipment.
