Assistant Director, Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (NEI-AHEC), Building Better Communities

Professional contract  position available immediately.  

Responsibilities:  develop curriculum and training programs to meet the education and training needs of students, educators, and providers in the allied health, dental health, medicine, mental health, nursing, pharmacy, and public health professions; coordinate the delivery, marketing and evaluation of conferences and workshops for health professionals entering practice and those already in practice; work with academic institutions to assist their health professions/medical students to have clinical training opportunities in rural and medically underserved areas in Northeast Indiana; maintain good relationships with the academic institutions that are sending their students into the NEI-AHEC region. 

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years of experience in curriculum development, delivery and evaluation of health-related or educational programs for K-12 and/or adult learners; detail-oriented and ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands; ability to work independently; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency; good planning, organization, problem solving, and time management skills; knowledge of health professions, medical terminology, pedagogy, and the health workforce; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstration of high ethical standards, integrity, professionalism and courteousness; proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook; willingness and ability to travel; ability to provide reliable transportation; possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy. 

Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree in health/medical profession, education, public, or business administration; at least two years of experience in community workforce development, health education, or rural healthcare system; advanced experience in community development, health professions education or provision of technical assistance to health care systems; at least three years of experience developing online curriculum, certificate programs or training modules for continuing education of health care providers; experience conducting community or workforce needs assessments; knowledge of recruitment and retention methodologies; proficiency with Blackboard, Adobe products and FileMaker Pro.
