Health Care Analyst, Payroll and Employee Benefits

Professional position available immediately.  

Responsibilities:  as part of the Employee Benefits team,  plan, research, implement, and administer the university’s health (medical and dental) and prescription benefit programs/policies to support the university’s business objectives; conduct research and analysis of health and prescription programs and advise management of opportunities for plan design enhancement and/or other appropriate health cost containment strategies; recommend and implement health plan strategies and serve as a liaison between the benefits team, Human Resources, and vendors for solving health care related problems and/or questions; will act as the primary driver for all health care reporting/metrics data as well as regulatory compliance relating to the administration of the university’s health and prescription benefit programs to include but not limited to PPACA and HIPAA compliance, ERISA, and Section 125 plans. 

Minimum qualifications:  bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or related field; at least three years of health and prescription plan experience, including a working knowledge of HIPAA, PPACA, and other compliance regulations that govern health and prescription plans; Microsoft Office Applications, including excellent Excel skills and experience compiling and interpreting data analytics and associated reporting, including pivot tables; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA; excellent conceptual and analytical abilities along with a familiarity with a variety of health and prescription plan concepts, practices, and procedures; demonstrated ability to drive multiple projects, lead initiatives and meet established deadlines; excellent collaboration and facilitation skills; ability to manage various sources of information and large data sets, including pharmacy, claims and utilization data; ability to combine clinical and financial data; ability to function independently and as part of a team; ability to develop scenario analysis using different approaches.  

Preferred qualifications:  master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or related field; additional years of related experience; Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation; proficiency in compiling data, creating reports and presenting information, including expertise with Crystal Reports (or similar reporting tool), SQL inquiry, MS Access and MS Excel.
